Emory’s unofficial title is “Graphic Communications Coordinator,” which includes a variety of “designed” communications pieces and formats. These include:
A member since 1997, Emory has been active in a variety of committees and efforts. These include Hospitality, LGBT Outreach, Visioning and others. He particularly enjoys work in design and writing. This is where he can take the thoughts and ideas of many and synthesize them into a single piece that conveys a message in eye-catching ways for those that need to hear it.
Emory’s own church background has been diverse. “I grew up outside of the traditional church setting, with parents who mixed in as much new age and eastern concepts as Christian tradition. Since moving to Milwaukee, I have attended Quaker, Unitarian and other services. But when I discovered Cross Church, I fell in love with the place, the people and the energy. This is the closest thing I’ve ever found to what I truly believe Jesus wants us to be doing in the world. In spite of my rather diverse background and beliefs, I feel completely welcomed and encouraged to share my ideas and talents.”
