A current resident of Greenfield WI, Isabelle was born in northern France where she lived most of her life. though she has also lived in England and Scotland. Isabelle graduated from a French University with a major in English, and taught English in France for almost three decades. She also taught middle school for seven years in a very rural area, and then high school in a city.
For more than three years, Isabelle was a substitute teacher in the Milwaukee area, since it allowed her the flexibility she needed to study for her M.Div. (Master of Divinity). She was a Distributed Learning student at Luther Seminary, which means she took a number of classes online, and some on campus in St. Paul, Mn. It was a great program, and the only way she could attend at this point in her life. She’s always glad to speak with people about how this works.
Isabelle’s hobbies include reading, sketching, visiting art exhibitions, going to movies, walking, traveling and cooking. she loves learning and speaking different languages.
Isabelle loves that God created a beautiful and diverse world, but is acutely aware that not everybody agrees with her. That is why she’s become passionate about racial and social justice as well as environmental issues. She is a member of the Greater Milwaukee Synod Anti-Racism team.
Isabelle is grateful and happy to be at Cross for this year. Even after just a couple weeks, she was impressed with all its ministries, and the dedication of the people who work and volunteer here.
