Our Staff at Cross Lutheran Church
Pastor John Horner-Ibler
John Horner-Ibler began as our Interim Pastor on April 1, 2026. He comes to us most recently from an interim position in Sheboygan Falls and prior to that, served as one of the pastors at Unity Lutheran-Brookfield, one of our partner congregations.
John is married to Barbara, who is one of the medical providers at the Bread of Healing Clinic which Cross hosts. They have two sons, David (lives in Ghana and works on health and agriculture projects) and Michael (lives in Atlanta and works in public health).
When not pastoring here at Cross, John helps out with a conservation group, gardens, and writes occasionally for The Word in Season, one of the ELCA devotional books. He and Barb live near West Bend.

Carla Brockman
Administrative Assistant
A long-time member of Cross, Carla has served in many ways, including her other current role as a member of the Trustees. Friendly and always capable, Carla is a great asset to the church and office staff.

Amy Burtch
Financial Secretary
Amy came to Cross first through our tutoring ministry, worked in the office, and eventually took the role as Financial Secretary.

Emory Churness

Church Council Secretary
A member since 1997, Emory recently took on the role as part-time office staff. He continues to be active in a variety of committees and roles.
He currently prepares ProPresenter presentations for Sunday worship and leads the Cross Choir. He also heads the Hospitality team.
